Air China Announces Slogan for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games

Monday August 27 9:17 PM

On August 8, Air China announced its Olympic slogan, "Carrying the Olympics, Flying your dream," in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the foot of the Great Wall of China. At the mark of the one-year countdown to the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games, Air China launched both the slogan and the action of 562 Air China registered Olympic volunteers, gathered at the famous Mutianyu section of the Great Wall near Beijing.

The slogan "Carrying the Olympics, Flying your dream" was selected from more than a thousand slogans submitted by Air China employees around the world. After a careful evaluation process, the slogan was selected to express the gladness of Air China's employees to be sponsoring the Beijing Olympics and to show the passion of China's people to be hosting the great, worldwide Olympic activity.

With the start of the year's countdown, the 562 registered Air China volunteers will act in daily concert to link official Olympic voluntary services to social voluntary services, striving to improve experiences and skills in order to offer better services throughout the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Eleven Air China employees were selected as members of the core, driver volunteer group for the Beijing Olympic Games and will join that driving group as the representatives of Air China.

"Air China will act as the representative of Chinese companies and will strive to offer the best services to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games," said Mrs. Zhang Chunzhi, Secretary-General of Air China's Olympic Work Committee.

As China's sole designated flag carrier and the Airline Partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Air China (HKEX: 0753; LSE: AIRC; SSE: 601111) serves 78 domestic and 39 international cities with an extensive network from its Beijing hub, conveniently linking passengers between China and destinations around the world.
