BayBio to Establish Agreement with Hong Kong Medical Device Group

Wednesday October 24 5:09 AM

BayBio, Northern California's life sciences association, will today establish formal ties to Hong Kong medical device companies through a new partnership between industry groups.

The partnership, to be signed formally this afternoon by the chairs of BayBio and the Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Device Manufacturers Association, will provide the members of both associations with broad opportunities to conduct business across the Pacific.

"This agreement is really about putting the needs of businesses first," offered Matt Gardner, president of BayBio. "Our member companies are looking at increasing the amount of work they do in the Pacific Rim, and the experience of the Hong Kong industry group is best in class. At the same time, many Hong Kong companies will find Northern California the ideal starting point for doing business with U.S. life sciences partners."

Both groups have agreed to explore further opportunities to bring their members together for mutual benefit, beginning immediately with a visit this week to California by several representatives of Hong Kong's long-established medical device industry.
