Navis India Technologies Experiences Robust Growth During First Year of Operations in Chennai

Wednesday October 24 10:01 PM

Navis, the global leader in enterprise software solutions for logistics asset visibility, control and optimization, is experiencing tremendous growth in India, just nine months after opening the first office of Navis India Technologies (NIT). NIT is engaged in software development, quality assurance, customer support, as well as technical documentation for Navis' range of products. In addition, NIT conducts all Navis- Ready Certification efforts on hardware supplied by Navis partners including Motorola, Psion Teklogix, LXE and Identec Solutions. This new office, and its support for international marine terminals, further cements Navis' status as the global industry leader in terminal operating systems.

NIT is well ahead of its staffing targets for the year. The increase in employees strengthens NIT's crucial role in enabling Navis to connect all the touch points of global trade. Navis' technology handles more than 30% of all global container volume, in 23% of all global terminals in more than 50 countries.

"Navis India Technologies has seen a very good response from potential employees," said NIT Managing Director Girish Menon. "Whether it's customer support or software development or quality assurance, this office provides convenience and affordability to Navis and all its global customers. We have been able to tap into a substantial pool of available talent."

NIT has built a strong workforce in Chennai due to Navis' strong position in its market space, as well as the fact that it is a software product company. "Ninety-five percent of the software jobs in India are in software services companies," explained Menon. "There are not too many opportunities to work on products from a market leader such as Navis. That is why we're seeing such unprecedented interest in working for Navis India Technologies. We're providing opportunities that can't be found elsewhere."

The India office also provides Navis customers the option of having certain work handled outside the United States, providing the convenience and affordability of a strong and talented workforce internationally, to better serve global customers. The office also offers the potential for a disaster recovery center outside the United States, as well as marketing, account and additional IT work.

"We're thrilled with the substantial growth we've seen during the first year of Navis India Technologies' Chennai office," said Chief Executive Officer John Dillon. "We're proud that so many talented people recognize our leadership and want to be a part of Navis, and provide international support for the solutions and services our global customers have come to expect."
