OGIS Becomes MuleSource Partner to Deliver Most Popular Open Source Integration Software Throughout Japan and Asia

Wednesday October 24 11:01 PM

MuleSource (www.mulesource.com), the leading provider of open source infrastructure and integration software, today announced that the leading Japanese SOA consultant and integrator, OGIS-RI (Osaka Gas Information System Research Institute), has become a MuleSource Premium Partner to resell Mule, the world's most popular open source enterprise service bus (ESB) and integration platform throughout Japan and other major Asian countries.

The open source Mule ESB product has been downloaded more than 1 million times and is used in more than 1,000 production deployments worldwide. The ESB is proving to be the critical SOA technology choice as it defines what data interfaces are accessible.

As one of the key points of SOA is to have flexibility in dealing with data and transactions, open source is quickly becoming an established approach. As part of the relationship OGIS will contribute documentation and code back to the Mule project, including integration with the popular Japanese SEASAR open source framework.

"Mule's maturity and acceptance in the Japanese marketplace was a major factor in our decision to partner with MuleSource," said Asanobu Yamasaki, Director of OGIS-RI. "Our team considered ease of use, adaptability, scalability, extensibility and of course, cost - and Mule was clearly the most mature open source platform on the market. OGIS SOA solution, which has been based on our experience and expertise with object-oriented technology and Model-Based Development, now has the most powerful integration platform that provides enterprise business scalability via Mule."

"OGIS-RI is an example of a solution provider that keenly understands the complexities and nuances of integration," said Dave Rosenberg, CEO of MuleSource. "In addition to substantial engineering resources, they see that open source technologies are a large part of the future for SOA."

Mr. Rosenberg, along with MuleSource Co-Founder and CTO Ross Mason, will be in Tokyo November 8-9 to speak at an OGIS sponsored seminar on the topic of Open Source and SOA. For more information, visit http://www.ogis-ri.jp/news/g-01-0000008D.html.
