Huron Consulting Group Expands Tokyo Office

Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of financial and operational consulting services, today announced that Hiroki Akiba and Kenji Sakai have joined as managing directors to enhance the Company's rapidly expanding Tokyo office.

Holdren, chairman and chief executive officer, Huron Consulting Group. "Hiroki and Kenji will be instrumental to our success in the Japan marketplace bringing our clients exceptional capabilities and service."

Akiba brings to Huron more than 15 years of advisory and consulting experience in mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, reorganization, and financial strategy. He has worked as a lead advisor for both international and domestic mergers and acquisitions and has provided valuation services for highly complex transactions and investments. Akiba has served clients at large international corporations in the electronics, high-tech, trading, transportation, and finance industries. Before joining Huron, Akiba served as executive vice president of American Appraisal Japan and worked as a leader of Transaction Advisory Services. Akiba received his BA from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo.

Sakai, who has 15 years of consulting experience, has provided clients with due diligence, valuation, acquisition structure planning, new business design and planning, risk analysis, synergy analysis, and business process re-engineering expertise. He has worked in the manufacturing, travel, telecommunications, and retail industries. Sakai served as chief executive officer and managing director of Maxis Consulting Co. (a subsidiary of Itochu) before joining Huron. He has co-authored articles in several industry journals including Japan Management Association and Toyo Keisai. Sakai received his BA from Dokkyo University.

Huron's Tokyo office opened in April 2007, and is led by Yuji (Kurt) Yamamoto.
