Saturday March 1 5:46 AM

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) - International Petroleum Technology Institute (IPTI) and Quest Offshore Resources recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop and cooperate in two existing offshore industry conferences: MCE - Deepwater Development, to be held in Paris, April 8 - 10, 2008 and DeepGulf, to be held in New Orleans, December 9-11, 2008.

This MOU outlines the roles and responsibilities framework that will strengthen the technical content and importance of these events. The success of these events will allow ASME/IPTI and Quest to increase their service to the industry through Scholarship Programs assisting a new generation of industry participations, Continuing Education programs for new and existing workforce as well as Technical Forums and Workshops focused on achieving solutions to the industry's problems.

"This alliance with Quest will allow the industry to enjoy first rate conference experiences while giving the participants solid technical know how to utilize back at work," said Manny Mones, Managing Director of ASME/IPTI. "I believe these kinds of venture partnerships will become more prevalent in the future as energy companies continue to look for ways to minimize costs and maximize value in learning venues."

Initially, the Venture will focus on building the technical content and stature of the MCE Deepwater Development and DeepGulf Conference. Future effort will include specialized events to be held in all regions of the world. "This is an exciting step for Quest Offshore in delivering added value to our Oil and Gas Industry Clients," stated John Chadderdon, Chief Executive Officer, Quest Offshore Resources.
