Republic Gold (ASX:RAU) Announce Second Vist To Burraga Base Metals Project By Chinese Mining Group

Brisbane, Australia, Mar 17, 2008 - (ABN Newswire) - The Board of Republic Gold (ASX: RAU.AX) today announces that Company directors and consultants spent several days last week with a delegation of senior executives from the major Chinese mining group that visited the Company in late 2007.

One of the delegates for last week's visit was the Chairman of the Chinese mining group. During the delegation's initial visit in December it viewed the Company's Far North Queensland projects. On this visit the delegation viewed the Company's 75%-owned Burraga Base Metals Project.

The Company is looking now to work closely with the Chinese group on developing its projects. To this end the Company proposes to visit China within the next four weeks to commence detailed discussions with the Chinese mining group on technical and financial issues.
