Avago Technologies Delivers Industry's First 15 MBd Digital Optocoupler Supporting Dual Supply Voltages and Widest Operating Temperatures

Tuesday March 18 11:30 AM

Avago Technologies today announced a new family of high-speed dual-supply voltage digital CMOS optocouplers. The company is a leading supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications. Avago's new ACPL-071L, ACPL-074L and ACPL-M75L operate in +3.3V and +5V supply voltages at a minimum speed of 15 MBd and support the industry's typical widest operating temperature range. These new optocouplers are ideal for a variety of industrial and consumer applications, such as plasma display panels, power supply and digital field bus isolation.

Supporting the industry's conventional widest temperature range of -40 degrees C to +105 degrees C, Avago's new optocouplers are built to withstand harsh industrial environments. The ACPL-071L/M75L (single channel) and ACPL 074L (dual channel) digital optocouplers integrate a new feature similar to under voltage lock-out to prevent any output disruption in case of any power supply loss or recovery. This new product family is housed in ultra small SO-5 and SO-8 packaging, which saves valuable PCB space. In addition, products from the same family that meet 8mm creepage/clearance (ACPL-W70L and ACPL-K73L) will be available in second half of 2008. ACPL-M75L also addresses low power consumption needs with a low forward current of min 4mA.

The ACPL-071L, -074L and M75L are widely approved by international safety standards, such as IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-2, UL1577 and CSA for Reinforced Insulation.

Pricing for Avago's ACPL-071L begins at $1.56 in 10,000 piece quantities. The ACPL-074L is priced at $2.88 in 10,000 piece quantities and the ACPL-M75L is priced at $1.50 in 10,000 piece quantities. The product is available now through Avago's direct sales channel and worldwide distribution partners.
