New series of medical tourism country reports
By 2010 medical travel is expected to be a $-billion business, with millions of patients seeking care outside their principal country of residence.
What the leading countries-India, Singapore and Thailand- are doing is well documented. There are less well-documented new emerging countries that aim to grab a share of this growing market.
Ian Youngman, author of the 760 page, " Medical Tourism 2008 - The World-Wide Business Guide", is producing anew series of country-specific reports, going into much greater detail than is possible in a world overview.
The first report in the Emerging Medical Tourism Countries series is now available; South Korea 2008
This will be followed by Taiwan, China and Hong Kong, Costa Rica, The Philippines, Mexico, Israel, and Malaysia.
South Korea was chosen as the first country as, almost unknown a year ago, it is being very active and targeting specific markets.
These unique reports investigate from a business perspective what is happening and will happen in all types of medical and health tourism in individual countries. They are not consumer guides.
Author's Note
There are many new countries seeking medical travellers. Those with a high profile are not necessarily those that will have the most impact. I have chosen countries with long- term potential for success. South Korea is underrated and under-estimated by its competitors."
