Thursday March 27 12:01 PM

Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c86693) has announced the addition of "iiNet Limited" to their offering.

A public company listed on the ASX, Perth-based iiNet is the third largest ISP in Australia, after the acquisition of OzEmail in February 2005. This followed a previous major acquisition of New Zealand-based ISP ihug. The company provides dial-up and broadband Internet access, including ADSL2+; web hosting, and VoIP services. By mid 2007 iiNet had its own DSLAM access equipment already deployed in over 350 exchanges and had over 120,000 customers on its network with 90% coverage of Perth and Sydney and speeds of up to 24Mb/s.

In May 2006 iiNet and PowerTel formed a strategic alliance that in effect provides the pair with the second largest access network in Australia. In July 2006 iiNet Limited began a formal sales process for its New Zealand subsidiary ihug. In October 2006 iiNet entered into a strategic partnership with Google. 2006-07 financial results showed an overall revenue growth of 7% and higher profitability, positioning iiNet as one of the best placed second tier telcos in the Australian market.
