Murchison Metals Provides Rocklea Mineral Resource Update

Original Announcement: Rocklea Mineral Resource Update

Murchison Metals announced an updated Mineral Resource estimate for its Rocklea Iron Ore Project in WA. Since announcing a maiden resource in February 2009, Murchison has conducted a comprehensive infill drilling program, with a focus on the eastern part of the project and a higher grade zone identified as part of previous drilling campaigns. The updated Mineral Resource totals: 89Mt @ 50% Fe, 59.9% CaFe, 53.2% Fe, 0.03% P, 8.2% SiO2, 3.5% Al2O3, and 11.2% LOI; and including a higher grade zone of: 46Mt @ 53% Fe, 61.5% CaFe, 54.6% Fe, 0.03% P, 7.1% SiO2, 2.7% Al2O3, and 11.1% LOI. The Company reported it considers that a higher grade portion of the resource is likely to be suitable for direct shipping, and this will form a focal part of the scoping study that is currently underway and due for completion by the end of 2009.
