Riversdale Mining provided its September 2009 quarterly activities report, reporting at the Benga Coal Project, Riversdale and Tata Steel have approved development of Stage 1 at a cost of US$270m, and development is based on a Feasibility Study which has been completed by the JV parties. At the Benga Power Plant, a Framework Agreement for the development of a power plant near Benga Coal Project has been signed with Government whilst at the Zambeze Project Coal Resource, drilling on EPL946L delivered an Indicated Coal Resource of 1.70Bt. The Company also reported in Mozambique, reconnaissance drilling is under way on licences in Tete and Chinde areas, and infill drilling will be undertaken on prospective areas in 2010; and at Zululand Anthracite Colliery, ROM production for the quarter was 212,246t, an increase of 12,916t on the June quarter.
