Financial Assistance

I've recently divorced and have been awarded custody of my children. However, I've had to reduce my work hours to look after the children. As a result, my income has fallen substantially. Is there any form of financial assistance that I can seek?

If the need for financial support can be demonstrated and your ex-spouse can be shown to have the financial resources to provide it, spousal maintenance will invariably be payable. You may also receive payment of child support, which is assessed annually and paid monthly. You should also check your eligibility for Centrelink benefits.
