Selecting a broker

I have been part of a sharemarket club for two years and am looking to start trading. How do I select a broker?

You need to work out what sort of approach to investing you will take. Will you adopt a buy and hold strategy for the long term, or are going to be an active trader? Some brokers will charge more because they provide access to online tools, charts, live market data and research services.

If you are trading regularly, say at least once a week, then your main objective will be finding a broker with low commissions.
