Advice for the struggling

Over the last three years I have poorly managed our financial circumstances. We have been living so close to the limit of our financial capacity and borrowed too much on credit cards. We now cannot cope and need to get back on track. What do you suggest we do?

Admitting that you have caused the problem is the first big step. Many people don't face reality and carry on and get themselves in even more financial strife. You should set up a few meetings with various financial advisers, explain your circumstances and your goals. Check the qualifications of each adviser and the fee structure. Then choose the adviser you feel most comfortable with. They will come up with a plan to get you back on track. It will cost you money to receive this advice, however the aim is to get you back on track and save you money in the long run. In the short term it will provide you peace of mind knowing that you have professionals looking for solutions for you.
